GO 4 Rotterdam

The streets of Rotterdam exhibit a number of interesting sculptures and art works. Sculpture International Rotterdam (SIR) manages and develops Rotterdam’s international collection of public sculptures on behalf of the Municipality of Rotterdam. The sculpture terrace at Westersingel exhibits sculptures from artists like Joel Shapiro, Rodin,  Henri Laurens and Umberto Mastroianni. One of the most controversial sculptures in Rotterdam certainly is McCarthy's Santa Claus. The Christmas tree in Santa's hand looks like a sex toy to some people. It became subject of long discussions whether the sculpture should be placed in a public area or not. Meet and greet Santa at Eendrachtsplein.
