The church was built between 1449 and 1525 and is one of the few historic buildings left in the city center. Guided tours are available. The church's main organ is the largest full mechanical organ in Europe.

During weekdays (excluding public holidays) you can walk inside the Rotterdam City Hall and enjoy the building on the ground floor, including memorials of Sir Winston Churchill and Mr George Marshall, initiator of the Marshall Plan. The City Hall is one of the few buildings that survived the 1940 bombings.
Enclosed by the City Hall walls you will be surprised by the small "hidden"garden. You may enter this area by passing the gates on the right and left sides of the building or by taking the back exit in the main hall.
