Rotterdam has become a growing cruise destination over the past years. Not without a reason as Rotterdam is centrally located in The Netherlands and shows the best of the best in our country.

What to do?
You can easily spend your day in Rotterdam visiting one of the many museums or attractions or enjoy a great day shopping in the city center. From the cruiseterminal the citycenter is only 10 minutes by taxi, bus or tram. It is even a nice walk of about 30 minutes.
From Rotterdam it is only a short trip to
Delft (Delft Blue Pottery, painter Johannes Vermeer, Royal Crypte, historic city), The Hague (Houses of Parliament, Royal Residence and Peace Palace), Kinderdijk (19 windmills and Unesco Monument), Gouda (cheese) and the worldfamous Deltaworks that protect our country against the water of the North Sea. Even Amsterdam, Antwerp (Belgium) are about 30 minutes by high speed train or 1 hour by car/bus from Rotterdam.

The
Wilhelminapier where your ship moors at the Rotterdam Cruise Terminal has a long history in passenger transportation over water. From this quay and from the same terminal hundreds of thousands Europeans left for North America!

Maritime History
The present
Hotel New York on the Wilhelminapier is the former Holland America Line's headquarters. Rotterdammers are proud of the maritime history and don't be surprised to meet hundreds or sometimes thousands enthousiast locals watching your ship while in Rotterdam! Next to Hotel New York you will find the pilgrim's monument named "lost luggage depot".

When you start or finish your cruise in Rotterdam, consider to extend your holiday adding one or more nights in our exciting city. Enjoy Rotterdam and the nearby sights & cities.

GO 4 perfect matches with your visit to Rotterdam: Delft, Kinderdijk, The Hague, Gouda & Deltaworks or have a look at some daytrip suggestions.
