Eiland Neeltje Jans Faelweg (navigation) Vrouwenpolder
Neeltje Jans is the former construction island for the Oosterschelde stormbarrier and is nowadays a water theme park in combination with an exposition and barrier visit. You can actually go into the barrier.
By car: Follow the direction Zierikzee (A15-A29-N59). After Zierikzee follow the directions for Burgh-Haamstede. Before reaching Burgh-Haamstede, take the Westenschouwen/Middelburg exit(N57). Follow the signs for Neeltje Jans, and after that the signs for Deltapark
Since hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in August 2005 our Deltaworks are increasingly visited by professionals and tourists from the USA and other countries. The US Army Corps of Civil Engineers consulted Dutch engineers in order to design a Deltaplan for New Orleans.
