The year around a lot of events are being organized in Rotterdam. Actually, too many to list them all on GO 4 Rotterdam. For several times now Rotterdam has been voted number 1 festival city in Holland. In 2010 Rotterdam won the IFEA World Festival & Events City Award. A title we are very proud of! The Rotterdam Municipal Authority, the Rotterdam Festival Organization and a number of other organizations work closely together to make it all possible. Planes over the river during the Red Bull Air Race, beautiful people dressed up for the Summer Carnival, Formula I cars in the city center for Bavaria City Racing event or quays full of people during the World Port Days.
Sports events like the Rotterdam marathon and Concours Hippique CHIO are highly valued by both participants and visitors. Rotterdam hosted the Grand Départ le Tour de France in July 2010 and the world artistic gymnastics championships in October 2010. A number of international sports events are hosted in Rotterdam in 2011, including EuroGames, World Championships Table Tennis, European Championships Dressage and World Open Squash.
