Stadhuisplein (opposite City Hall). At this spot you will find a number of bars and restaurants.
Oude Haven area (near cube houses). Sunny terraces and a variety of bars and restaurants. Nice view over the Old Harbour.
Wilhelminapier (Wilhelmina Quay, south shore, left of Erasmusbridge) with hotspots like Café Rotterdam and Hotel New York and a number of other venues in this area. Mostly sunny terraces.
The Westelijk Handelsterrein (van Vollenhovenstraat 15, Erasmusbridge Area) has a number of nice bars and restaurants under one roof, including some galleries and shops. This former tradebuilding is worthwile a visit.
The Schouwburgplein area has a number of bars/restaurants with outdoor terraces.
Café Rotterdam at Wilhelminapier
Cappucino Rotterdam at Korte Hoogstraat (next door to the Rotterdam Historic Museum) deserves a recomendation for good quality products and nice atmosphere. Outdoor terrace. Enjoy a Cappuccino Rotterdam! Also for a "bagel" lunch.
Soho Bar at Pannekoekstraat 53A - trendy bar - great cocktails - large & sunny terrace.
Coopvaert at Blaak 776 (square next to Maritime Museum and Zadkine statue) is a place where Service is written with a capital S, friendly, enthusiastic and relaxed. Sunny terrace. Also for lunch and diner.
Grandcafe Dudok at Meent is famous for its apple pie. Nice atmosphere in a former office building by archtect Willem Dudok. Outdoor terrace.
Staal at Beursplein (next to WTC) has got one of the best terraces in Rotterdam. Great location.
Cafe Pol at Meent 46-48, mainly locals.
Restaurant Boudoir at Meent 65A has a nice outdoor terrace. Somewhat different than the other venues mentioned on this page. Experience yourself.
Jansen en van Dijk at Westewagenstraat 58 (next door to Dudok). Wine bar with delicious French tastes. Also a good choice for lunch. Outdoor terrace.
Just out the city center:
Prachtig at Willemsplein (Erasmusbridge) has about the best views on the river from inside and from the large terrace which includes a lounge area. Also lunch & diner.
Loos at Westplein 1. In the pittoresque Scheepvaartkwartier. Als for lunch & dinner.

The former flagship of Holland America Line operates two restaurants and a bar. Have lunch, dinner or a high tea in the Lido restaurant or a more intimate dinner in the Club Room restaurant. The Ocean Bar is open for a drink in style.

A special recommendation for Euromast where you can have a drink or a good lunch at about 100 metres height. Euromast also serves fine dinners. This all in combination with the best view over Rotterdam you can possibly have. Of course there is an entrance fee to get on the tower however after 18.00 hrs and on Sunday, parking is free in the Euromast area. Make a reservation if you want to have dinner (phone local 010-2411 788).
