My name is Peter Verheij and I developed the GO 4 Rotterdam website. I lived in one of the city suburbs for 29 years and enclosed Rotterdam into my heart. Nowadays I live in the city of Delft, another great place nearby and certainly worthwhile a visit in combination with Rotterdam. Count me in as a Rotterdam fan!
The idea for this website is a combination of my passion for Rotterdam, my own travel experiences, knowing the pride of the Rotterdammers, the ongoing developments in the city and the fact that I believe Rotterdam is a part of The Netherlands a visitor should explore, experience and enjoy!
In 2000 when Rotterdam co-hosted the European Soccer Championships EURO2000, Rotterdam set up a hospitality program for visiting soccerfans. I was one of the voluntary team coordinators and was touched by the many enthusiastic volunteers from Rotterdam and surrounding cities. All people who wanted to do something more for the city and her visitors than just be a citizen or a fan! This experience in 2000 is the basis for GO 4 Rotterdam.
For me Rotterdam has got it all! Nice attractions to go to, great architecture, art & culture, festivals, excellent shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife. Rotterdam is an everchanging and multicultural metropolis. More and more visitors come to Rotterdam and enjoy one or more days in our great city.
