One of the art hotspots in Rotterdam is Museum Boymans Van Beuningen. The collection of this museum gives an overview of Old Art (like Breughel's Tower of Babel), a collection of Applied Arts and Design, a modern Art wing and a collection of Surrealism (like Margritte and Dali).

The Maritime Museum in the heart of the city center has a unique collection of some half a million maritime objects including maritime charts, ship models, paintings and photos. Next to the museum in the Leuvehaven you can visit museum ship "The Buffel" which is a former naval ship from 1868. For kids the museum has a special program named "Professor Plons".
